I think that was a good decision. Baring anymore of her antics eating things, she should be all set now. Surgery sure can knock them off there center for a while.

Yeah when the boat was under way, yeah, a tad chilly for some people, especially later. It was nearly 70 degrees, but the water was probably mid 40s.

Once we anchored in a quiet bay with no wind, it was even warmer.

Those people in the pics are warmer weather folk. They seem to always be shivering even when it's downright warm.
I had a tank top on, and board shorts with sandals. Once we stopped, I was down to just the shorts. I had to work on preserving my tan from Florida.

I won't ride on 2 wheels on the street under 35°. Ice and 2 wheels is scary.

I ride plenty under 35* - but only if I know the roads are warmer so there won't be ice. Did HAVE to ride to work several times late last fall (became my only vehicle for about 10 days). At 5 AM, with frosty roads - not fun. Actually, the riding itself wasn't bad (it was too dark for me to see the frost on the road and I just took it a bit slower), it was 25 miles later when I got into the city and had to stop at a light - my foot slid a bit touching down.

I hear you. I've lost 2 dogs in the past 2 years. You never really get over it. The fact that those feelings don't go away just shows how much they impacted our lives.

You've been in my thoughts lately rottiman........ It's never easy. Has the thought of trying to help fill the hole crossed your mind at all? Nothing will completely fill it, but it does help. Maybe a mid age rescue? Keep your head up. :)

Yes, I am sure you are. Loosing our fur companions is a pain we learn to live with. We also live the the joy of the memories.

I've already asked that of Mr Rotti. He seemed pretty well set on not getting another fur child.

    I hope he's reconsidered. ;)

Never say never, but as of now we have pretty much decided not to do that. Thanks for all your thoughts, they are very much appreciated.

We have a another guide dog puppy visitor this weekend. My guess is that he is going to fail at being a guide dog and get reassigned as someone's pet. (They don't like it when you call them rejects). Although he's really smart he's too much of a food thief and isn't exactly what you would call an 'easy dog'.

I took him for a 12 mile hike today to try and wear him out. Seems to be working at the moment. This is Looking up the Hudson River towards Bear Mountain (and Indian point).
