Holy moly! Here' the silk/jacket Augie was wearing. It got pretty ripped up under the truck tire. BTW, he's doing great tonight. The sedation and narcotics that the vet had to give him have finally worn off and he's back to his normal "CRAZY" self.

Will do! Better yet, stay close to Mama Bayerl! She is the ultimate care giver. Yes, I'm grateful that I'm one of her flock.:)

Thanks, they're pretty darn special to us.

    They are our kids.

William is turning into quite the little tank. I'll have to weigh him again. I'm thinking he's 75 lbs already.

mike bayerl glad hes back to his crazy self. By the looks of the vest, it came close. (Thank goodness he was wearing it too for the added visibility!)

Horkn - our pups are pretty close in age and if i remember, we got ours within weeks of eachother. Maple is 11 mos and her weight as of last week was 63.

Mama Bayerl makes vests for all of our dogs. Out here, they need visibility from hunters and neighbors driving too fast. If anyone needs a vest, please let us know. We have plenty of material....

William will be 10 months on April 19. Yeah, he's a little chunk. We knew that going in. His mom's pretty big, and his dad is a big boy.

Boating season is around the corner, when mother nature is fine with the snow garbage that is happening. Should be a good time.

William has a thick coat, and me choochin' the fire booted him off the couch many times, to go hang out on the linoleum in the kitchen, or on the laminate away from the stove. I image he'll be in the water a lot to cool off.

Well, took my partner Bear to the vet today. He's been having a tough time of late with his back leg joints. As well, we have suspected the starts of cancer due to the growth of two tumors on his chest. Cancer is the number 1 killer of this breed. The long and short is that the Vet has put him on Medi-Cam for the joint issues. Her thoughts are that we have a year or so left with him as he will be 11 this coming October. Our goal is to keep him as comfortable and happy for whatever time we have left with him............Enjoy and love them while you have them.

Not at this point, the vet wants us to keep a close eye on them for the next little while. If they are malignant, at his age there is not much to be accomplished by aggressively trying to treat them with the other medical problems he is having. We will make him as comfortable as we can and spend what time we have left with him. When he losses quality of living we will address that issue and do what is best for him.

DAM! I hate hearing this stuff, but it's part of our love for these creatures! I'm so sorry Rottiman. I know Bear will be happy as he has been. I know your feeling and my prayers are with you all!

Thanks Dave, yup, they are children with fur. Lots of people do not understand that and consider them to be "just a animal". For a lot of us, they represent a whole lot more...........................................
