Thank you, me too. I messed up the post originally, there are pics of her now. Made me a mess to get them in there, won't be over this for a while. Got her when I was 19 years old or so

Rocky, you gave her, and she to you a good life. So very good that she was active up to the end, and that she had many good years. She will be with you always.

Every time we lose a loved pet, I say - never am I going through that again. Somehow another one just wiggles in and becomes part of the family again. fortunately the pain eases in time and you will be able to look back and enjoy the memories of the times you had together.

Not bad. Giz went after a gray squirrel this morning... by the time she got to where he "was"... he was 50' up the tree...  Me thinks she ought to stop shrieking like a fire siren, while she "sneaks" up on em... o_O

My first lab (mix with German Shepard) was a good hunter. We were out on our deck one evening when old Beauty went flying off the deck down a whole flight of stairs. Quick as lightning, she had a river rat. She shook it to death. What a hunter she was. She also chased away someone who wondered in my house during the night. She was after whoever it was in a flash.
Very protective of our two young daughters. Chased off more than one salesman. The power company meter reader wouldn't get out of their truck unless I had her hitched or inside. My kids had lots of friends over. She never bothered them or their parents. They know right from wrong.

Rascal is our hunter. He has killed four rats and almost got a squirrel. Now when he finds a squirrel up a tree, it is hard to get him to move on and continue our walk.

Thanks everyone. A week before she passed we rescued a little terrierist named Jackson. I'll get pics of him up when I can, he is ADORABLE. I'm doing pretty well, I did know it was coming but it's never easy.

Sorry to hear of your loss. They fill such a big space of total forgiving love in our lives. We really do miss them when they pass!

Sorry for your loss RMH:( Your right, it doesn't matter if your prepared or not - it's never easy. Best of luck with the new pooch. Would have replied sooner, but couldn't find the "Don't necessarily want to Like this post, but want to show my support" button.

I always remember this WW.. Sorry about your little buddy Rocky..

    [IMG] Rainbow Bridge [IMG]
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

The rainbow bridge is one of my favorite poem/stories. Thank you. I got one of my coworkers an engraved wooden plank when her last dog died, she'd never read it and it made her feel a lot better....

If this is the case, I'll have about 15 of them running at me when I get to the bridge lol

made me tear up, in a good way

Here's a pic of BuZZ he is 12years old or Iam told 108 dog years almost lost him last year because of flea medicine last summer.I met a lady with some huskies told her about him and asked what she gives her dogs for the fleas. She told me to wash him in a mixture of Dr.bonners miracle soap and natural apple cider vinegar (unpasturized). It works he gained all his weight and wits back.I don't know how it works but I thank god for this I thought I was going to lose him just wanted to share this.
