Thanks everyone! She was happy to see us. We reacted calm to keep her calm at first. She tinkled when she first arrived (normal) and her pee was a dark yellow, meaning probably still dehydrated and\or some blood perhaps. We stayed longer than the hour they allow which we felt would allow her the much needed rest. Dawn and I will flop back and forth at least a day off each to stay home with her.

Yea, I hope any meds they give keep her calmer and sleepy. I will be less worried after another couple days have passed. She has one hell of an incision. Yup, big $. We'll try for a payment plan. Having her spayed added some cost, but saved her from another surgery in the future. Total bill will run around 4 k, but we wouldnt have done it any differently. The Lord will provide........

We'll be visiting again around 8 tonight. There hours are 8 am to 10 pm, and the same at night. We will visit, then hopefully she knows we'll always be back.:) Really sucks not having her around. I go outside often, and she always follows.

Thanks everyone for your support, prayers, and good wishes! It meant a lot for both Dawn and myself!

    Another update......

She is beginning food and meds by mouth. They had to give her a sedative because she was barking non stop since we left, almost to the point where they were considering to have her come home this evening. Poor girl..... the doctor did say that the next 9 days are critical and that she should be kinda herself, eat, drink, and be somewhat merry. We will need to moniter her temp, analy, normal dog temp 100°-102° anything higher then this we need to take her in immediately because it would probably be an infection.

Oh, absolutely papadave...... but barking is not so good for the intestine. Its like when we get checked for a hernia. Turn your head and cough, then the lump appears. Tomorrow morning works for us. It cant come soon enough!

you will have your hands full.
You most likely have done this, but in case, make sure she has lots of acceptable things to chew on. We haven't lost a stick of furniture or shoes due to chewing. I give them lots to chew on. I also disable the squeakers in the toys so they are not ripping them up trying to get to it.

Pages 148 and 149, and 146 for the porcupine story.

It's been a rough week for the FHC pups.

We will have our hands full for sure. I took off monday, Dawn took off on tuesday. We are hoping by wednesday she ok enough to be alone. We will be coming home during lunch. Thats 4.5 days since surgery, but we will reevaluate daily. We'll need more toys, since we went through a lot of them that were questionable. There are still 3 toys each per dog for now.

Hopefully thats it too. I probably should have created a seperate thread regarding Maple.
