I fully agree. Here's Will with Badger. Badger has been such a good big brother. Way better than we ever would have thought, as Badger was "all about me" prior to getting our little pup. IMG_20150829_143044645_HDR.jpg

Will is 10 weeks old, and 18 lbs just now after a pee party outside with big brother Badger.

IMG_20150822_065327176.jpg He swam last Sunday for the first time all on his own. No videos or pics of that yet as I am the camerman and I was busy making sure he could do it on his own. He was very well composed, no spastic flailing. IMG_20150822_153810102_HDR.jpg IMG_20150822_143501852.jpg IMG_20150828_204823648.jpg IMG_20150820_205433319.jpg

    Awesome pics Horkn

Puppies are great, and a lot of work. Our Maple is great, but testy at times for sure.

I'm in the market for a new dog. Our last lab was great but wondering if there are other options. Must be EXCELLENT with kids and have a low maintenence coat that doesn't drag a ton of dirt in the house.

Labs or beagles. Both probably the best with kids.

there are lots of breeds that are considered good with kids. You need to decide what size and energy level fits your style and property.
I like "dogs that are very trainable".
I would stay away from "dogs that are the hardest to train".
some quick google searches may narrow the field

Its that beautiful grass! Who wants to get up when your bum is on something comfy? :D

We'll be taking the pups for a cruise on the lake! Maybe even take a dip!

We have a guest staying with us for a few days. He has trouble with the dog door so we prop the main door open so he can go in and out. He apparently doesn't like to swim and if water is involved he has a life jacket. His owners went on a kayaking camping trip and he doesn't like camping and he is too big for the kayak. He is enjoying sleeping and drooling when the watermelon is being eaten. Toby is about six years old.

He doesn't know how to swim. They have a life jacket for him but he is not eager to get in the water they said.
