I've settled on Grandma Mae. Not as premium as others as not all of the protein in their food is sourced from meat, which keeps the cost a little more reasonable, but they do use all high quality "human grade" ingredients. They are a relatively small company who owns their own production facilities and they quality control test every batch of food. I also like their business plan in that they only distribute their product through small locally owned "mom and pop" type stores who belong to their co-op, no Petco etc. They have 5 different blends that I use, so I can keep some variety in the hounds diet also. I get every 11th bag free, I just buy 10 at a time so I don't have to keep record of the purchases.

So this is a picture of the fuzzy shedding blanket that we have in the back seat of the Corolla for the dogs. Underneath it is a waterproof liner. This blanket has fuzzies over everything so today I upgraded the blanket.

I found a length of denim in my fabric room (don't ask me how - it still needs mega-organizing) and with Campinspecter's help, I measured and fitted the new cover. Hopefully it won't shed fuzzies and retain dog hair.

I should go take a pic of all the dog hair and sand in the Jeep.
Makes your car look immaculate.
The dogs seem to be in a perpetual shedding stage.

Meet Augie (a.k.a. Augustus Gloop, a.k.a. Sausage Pants). He's a "Bassador" Basset/Labrador cross (As Nancy Reagan would say "Just say no.") We were fostering him, but it turns out he's super protective and goes absolutely ballistic towards strangers. With us, he's very chill and happy. He'll be spending the rest of his life with us.

It was even worse when we had two German Shepherds in the back seat. Hair, fur and nose prints everywhere. Definitely nobody stealing the car then. Romeo was 130 lbs and Juliette was 85 lbs.

An old tired-looking dog wanders into a guy's yard. He examines the dog's collar and feels his well-fed belly and knows the dog has a home.
The dog follows himinto the house, goes down the hall, jumps on the couch, gets comfortable and falls asleep. The man thinks its rather odd, but lets him sleep. After about an hour the dog wakes up, walks to the door and the guy lets him out. The dog wags his tale and leaves.
The next day the dog comes back and scratches at the door. The guy opens the door, the dog comes in, goes down the hall, jumps on the couch, gets comfortable and falls asleep again. The man lets him sleep. After about an hour the dog wakes up, walks to the door and the guy lets him out. The dog wags his tale and leaves.
This goes on for days. The guy grows really curious, so he pins a note on the dog's collar: "Your dog has been taking a nap at my house every day."
The next day the dog arrives with another note pinned to his collar: "He lives in a home with four children -- he's trying to catch up on his sleep. Can I come with him tomorrow?'
