Yes sir, brother. We've got a small hard side cooler that goes with us know. The shed we will start on now has good shade on one end and we will be able to use the fans and lights.
T.Jeff Veal , great job on all the work you're doing, will you have enough room for all the firewood you have?
Should have, if not, I have more pallets to build more sheds... Oh, yeah, we have more hickory to go get soon, got to make room to dump it.
Tuesday morning took my hunny out for breakfast, went by saw dealer, got a new chain for the MS180 and a spare chain for the 32" bar, he also checked the oiler on the MS461, it had been leaking a bit. Checked on her car, still not finished with it yet. Got home, replaced the bearings in the front tires on the mower, replaced a board on the cutting sled. Cleaned out a spot and sorted 4 trailer loads of oak and hickory. The hickory pile Small limb pile The oak pile Wednesday, got early start on the oak. About 4 hrs and 5 bottles of water later, it's ready for the splitter The MS180 and huskihl XS029BB got the call today. They were up to the challenge.
We made a nice dent in the pile of rounds last night after work. Got started about 7:30 and quit about 10:30. The pile when we started... When we quit Shed before and after. We did a little over 1/2 cord. We will hit it again tonight when I get home.
Finished up these 10 rounds Monday morning and stacked it. Got 1 1/2 cords + a small pile of chunkies/big knots from that pile of logs we had been working on Then we got started on some bigger boys, this load of logs, just the oak. Got it bucked and some SS Found some unwanted pest in the hollow log, trimmed them off and still had some good splits. Finished stacking 3rd row in the shed This morning, used the red splitter to quarter more rounds into handling size, then final split and stacked by noon. Got these 9 rounds left from that load of logs.
Haven't made it to the new (calico) shed yet. I'm calling it that because the roof is brown & green with blue screws. This is the Big shed you liked last year. Got 3 + rows in it so far. Holds 9 rows.
We got those 9 rounds quartered, split and stacked yesterday morning. start Finish About a face cord in those rounds
After we finished that stack on the ramps, we got out the big tongs for the big boys Getting one hooked up Let the MS461 have fun today with 32" bar Got the butt log, it was a LOAD. We split 3 rounds yesterday. Pretty oak under that bark. Got 13 rounds left, found termites in the big crack in the middle, poured a little gas in there. Maybe that slowed them down. Biggest is 38", down to about 30"
