I bought some of the Duluth long tail Tees, man, those things are thick. Don't wear those on a warm day. The Armachillo boxer briefs are great at keeping things cool, though.
First chore of the morning, finished the big chunk on the County Line splitter and stacked it in the tote. Then moved logs to the processing area... Decided to let the Stihl XS362 have some fun today... The Echo XS2511T got to play also... It finished the cut on this log, also used it as our marking saw... Sunshine, the woodyard kitty, must have had a bad night, like Otis Campbell, on Andy Griffin show... She climbed into her own cell......and stayed there as we were running saws and stacking rounds...... I think we have enough to get Blue Samson started this morning...... The pile left to buck... Working on getting 8 totes of 18" splits ready...
Started on the big pile of rounds Thursday morning, #5 tote... Got it full and cut the rest of the pile up Got that split Friday morning after work...almost got #6 full Then moved more logs to processing... Took tractor back to our friend, he wanted to mow Saturday morning, we can get it later. Hope they will start work on ours next week.
Looking good! How much stacked wood fits in a tote? I’m considering transitioning to totes. At least for my personal use firewood. What’s wrong with your tractor? Trees and limbs down everywhere around here and I’m feeling unmotivated. I have to go clear someone’s driveway and maybe I’ll start picking up some of the limbs down in my yard. Driving to Atlanta tomorrow afternoon
Got a limb clean up this morning at my friends mothers place. He wanted me to cut down the rest of the tree during the wind yesterday. Tulip poplar that split off at the top.
Those long tail t’s are definitely a cool weather shirt. They used to make a lightweight long sleeve shirt that was great for higher temps but I haven’t seen them lately. I concur, the armichollo skivvies are great. The lightweight flex britches are great for hot weather & light jobs but seem to rip/tear easily during firewood & other more rugged jobs. I prefer the heavier Firehose britches for firewooding & other more rugged outdoor jobs. They absolutely refuse to rip/tear.

Thinking with the wrong head Jeff!!! Ill label most of my half cord bins, but I trust my memory most of the time too. Ms. buZZsaw gets mad at that as I cant remember stuff she tells me sometimes!
Only Duluth I’ve had were the original fire hose and the lighter flex hose. I concur on the strength of the original over the flex. All their lives and integrity were probably cut short. As a Mason with one of those newfangled (useless) washing machines I began doing my laundry with muriatic acid. Cleaned well but I noticed all my jeans started to tear easily Now that I process firewood in my underwear I don’t have much of a problem with durability. The scar tissue on my shins is building up nicely.
We have 2 different size totes. 10 or so of the 330 gal, on the left. They hold .33 cords, level with top. Got those from an oil distributor. The ones we get now, 275-gallon, on the right, hold .3 cords stacked level with top. We just stack a little higher in those. I like the totes for delivery too. Stack once, dry, load on truck or trailer with tractor...done...cuts down on handling. The tractor had a major malfunction...think something broke in transmission...it will have to be broke apart...just that is ...$600... Parts and labor are more...hope they can get started on it next week. Tractor has about 2800 hrs on it. Mechanic said it had gotten low in hydraulic fluid, I must have checked it wrong, I saw fluid on stick when it started acting up...
We started on the pile of logs Monday evening, only cut the small barkless log and the first big log ... That made enough to finish #6 tote...that small log already had some termites in the sapwood. That went into a deer camp wood pile... We got the lights set up Tuesday evening, bucked about half the pile of logs That made enough to fill #7 tote and a bit of #8 Wednesday evening, we finished bucking the pile, got it all split. Finished #8 tote And had a nice pile to start on a truckload for delivery...
Borrowed the tractor back from the neighbor, put on the forks and moved our chunk totes back into storage...they are the ones with holes in the bladder...starting with those and to the right is our wood...hickory, oak, ash holly and BL... Last night, we prepped another tote for chunks...I forgot to drill the holes in the door...
We split the pile of cutoffs from the last 8 totes we did, plus a 55gal drum full. Almost 1/2 way full
