Why do you have some of the vertical frame cut on the ibc tote?

Had a couple rainy days, so we hauled rock from a quarry about 30 miles away. 20240223_141155.jpg 20240223_143925.jpg
About 22-23 tons spread here. This is where our 26x40x14 camper shed will be installed. 20240223_145218.jpg
They have some big boys at this quarry...that loader can hold 11 tons in the bucket 20240301_093323.jpg
50-60 ton off road truck with a load for the crusher... 20240301_093359.jpg

This past Saturday adventures was a mix of things. Our son had a job to do, so we had our grandson with us, great times...
A friend had called, said he was going to take down some oak and pine trees, did we want the oak, they would load it...sure...
    1st load... 20240302_123139.jpg
I dropped 2 more oaks for them and a couple sketchy pines...I used the XS4910, they had never seen a saw with Xtra sausage...they said that little saw didnt even bog down going thru the logs. It was smoking his MS391. And I was using semi-chisel X-cut.
    He wanted Kevin's info... huskihl
I got him to look you up on youtube. 20240302_150701.jpg
    20240302_150804.jpg
20240302_150822.jpg Bucked the pines to 12'6", another guy has a mill and is building pallets for a local company. 20240302_150845.jpg
    Last load of oak 20240302_155223.jpg
After our son got home, we watched from a safe distance as he split his big bee hive... 20240302_161230.jpg
Lot of bees on that frame... 20240302_161926.jpg

    Back to processing wood...
Decided to play with some big boys and let the MS461 with 28" have some fun...
These were a load for the 'Bota... 26953.jpeg
    Had 3 - 3' logs 20240304_113243.jpg
This was the smaller log 20240304_120810.jpg
The biggest log...yep, it had the blue stain of chain death in it. Luckily we missed it. Found some nais, barbed wire and phone wire in that section 20240304_132758.jpg
Bucked it to 18" rounds 26969.jpeg
Miz Carol helped with the County line splitter 20240304_115737.jpg
This is 1 round on Blue Samson... 20240305_112323.jpg
    3 1/2 rounds made a full 1/3 cord load... 20240304_135641.jpg
The other 2 1/2 rounds almost made another load... 20240305_114719.jpg
Finished that load with 3 small logs... 20240305_123159.jpg
We got it delivered and stacked for a widow that's been a loyal customer for several years. 20240305_132926.jpg
She has been using a tarp to cover, we will go back and put a proper roof on it soon.

Coworker/neighbor had a water oak he wanted took down, if we didn't want it he was gonna cut it down. Rain finally moved out enough for us to go this afternoon. 20240306_145654.jpg
It needed to come down, already had a soft spot and small hollow forming 20240306_151916.jpg
We got it all on 1 trailer load, but it was full... 20240306_175129.jpg

Kind of ironic you were waiting on rain to cut down a water oak.

Nice work and wood there my friend.

I'd hate to maneuver those big rounds once they're laid flat. Been there, done that. Do you use the tractor to push 'em around?

I have before, but the platform at the splitter foot helps with sliding. I used the long pry/chop and Miz Carol helped me too.

On the way to the gravel quarry this morning, I noticed one of the strangest tree trunks I've seen...
Looks like it came up, got bent over, sprouted roots again, then grew from there... 20240308_090028.jpg
We hauled a load of mixed rock for my sister and they had enough for another load for us.
Mixed grades is where they dump off any overweight trucks, can get it for 5/ton. This load was $25 20240308_143058.jpg
Dirt has washed out around the tree roots and had a deep hole at the top
This is one way up to the woodyard.

That tree trunk is pretty cool. Is there a "bizarre tree" thread?
