I had a CBN wheel given to me by the saw shop because it was noisy and plugged with debris so that it would not cut. I found and ordered the proper cleaning stick and got it working again. I wasn't real impressed and gave it back to the shop. The resinoid wheels are my favorites. When a Silvey wheel is wore out, it will slightly oversize to work on a conventional grinder with the use of a bushing.

This is a very good suggestion!

It took some time to figure it out years ago on my own but it saves lots of time when changing different wheeles around on your grinder.

    Update.

Finally got out to my wood lot. OMFG. These chains are light saber material compared to what I was getting from hand filing! Even the little .043 that I didn't think was gonna cut did fine! Frozen sugar maples didn't stand a chance!

A HUGE Thank you to everyone who helped me get going!

Great to hear you are having success. One thing though,..................In order to achieve "Light Saber" performance, one must by definition be using a Husky XP along with your sharp chain.:p:D:dex::thumbs::rofl: :whistle:

Gotta pump the brakes on that one. You want [the fastest] saw, you need to run all orange. We all know it's true. Especially DD. :D

Nothing runs good with a poor chain and vice versa.

Preciate that I fubared it it’s in the quote, to much Baileys in the coffee. I just began reading from page one and realized you have a Oregon grinder.

Been getting lured in the square chain. And looking at grinders, have heard about logisol being good. Being in Alaska and Madsens being good to us. I am looking at the 451a now.

Have you got the Oregon to square grind?

    I've got a Oregon 520. As a noob I can't complain. I'm 100 percent happy.

In Alaska off the grid, I'd still be happy with it.

It's like hand load ammo. Sure....u can want sub moa loads at 1000...who doesnt....or you can just take moa or a lil better and still know it'll hit vitals on a caribou at 400.

    It gets the job done.
