Those progressive gauges are the ticket! I was introduced to those a few years ago, only way to go...

I've always heard guys refer to "normal" chain as full house. Now I know different and thanks for the correction.

The grinder does come in handy for stuff, that is for sure. here is a link to the making of the fixture and some info gleaned from it.

dall LOVES all orange saws. When he comes over here that's all he wants to do. He keeps just piling them up in my boat though and mumbles something about anchors.

Still running the first ones I put on the saws. Haven't cut enough to need sharpened or swapped yet. 2 tanks each on the 361 and 192.

I live an hour from where I cut so walking out to a log after work unfortunately doesn't happen.

Your post made me try my hand at my grinder again. Glad it did. I paid more attention to detail and turned out a couple nice chains for once.

I even got some Carlton semi chisel to cut really well for me. It's amazing how a sharp chain can actually allow you to enjoy a saw!!

Glad to hear you have the grinder another chance!!!

I think a lot of guys think you jusybput the chain on and bring the head down, and WALLA, a perfect chain, LOL...

They are only as good as the operator!!!
