Never said that the CRV is an awesome off roader, just that it can get through some trails when needed. Not many stock trucks and SUV's are really that awesome of an offroader anyway.

Oh, that's all OLD crap, could care less about the 2008 to 2011 models. Hell, if ya wanna play that game, would you like a list of the class action lawsuits filed on my 02 F150? 2 Heads, 3 heli coils and 2 transmissions later all before 65k on it...

    I'm talkin 2015 and 2016's. ;)

Look very carefully. There are "loss leaders" that are there to get people in the door. That's for new models. However, there was a 5.0 v8 supercrew with just the right options at a local dealer. It was a smoking deal, it was a 2015 aluminum body f150 4wd XLT, very low miles for 22k. I was looking at it before all my $ went out the door with unexpected bills/ costs.

Interesting points for you guys, I just got back again from a Ram dealer to check out / compare rims with the one I'm about to buy, and two things occur:

    1. There it was, one of those "Ridgeline" thingy's!! Are you guys kidding me? That is NOT a truck. I think somebody hit the nail on the head with the "That makes a nice grocery getter...". Probably a nice little car, it's just not a "truck".

    2. On way home, I pull down my street and low and behold there is a brand new looking silver Platinum F150 on the side of the road 1/2 way down my street, with it's flashers on. Can't miss the distinctive aluminum "Platinum" plate covering the tailgate area... Anyway, I slow down and pull up next to him, the guy is sitting in the drivers seat with his window down smoking a cig. I say "Hey, you looking for something?". He says in an annoyed voice, "No, thanks, my F'in engine light came on and the truck just shut down". I say, "Oh bummer, looks brand new, no?". He says "Pretty much, I only have 8000 miles on it."

CAN'T MAKE THE STUFF UP!! Youza. What do ya think, was this a sign to take the RAM?? ;)

Maybe they do that in cheese country out there... but on LI with 8 million people or whatever, there is no need for incentive to get people in the doors. I stopped in a big ford dealership (Sayville Ford) last weekend on Sat. afternoon and walked up to the desk. Receptionist politely said can I help you, I said I want to speak with a Pre-owned salesman, she replied, "ok, give me your name and cell # and we will call you in a couple hours". When I looked surprised, she said "Sorry, we have been backed up for days".

The ridgeline isn't a truck, despite what Honda wants to say. It's an Odyssey minivan chassis, same as the pilot crossover. Fwd based, with a fake bed contour line for the new version. For some, it might work, but it's no truck.

Did you ask what motor he had in the stalled f150? In addition to that, there probably is a lot more to that story than you know.

Yeah, it does take a few years for class action and lawsuits to file and for recalls/deaths to occour.
They beefed up the front ends but people are still having problems with them.

LOL! Well played, well played! ;) But, reality is this is comparing a new Ram, to used Fords. I can get a used Ram cheaper than the new ones. I just can't find the one I want used. The one I'm buying (leaving dep. now) is actually "almost" used, it's got 4k on it, so that's making it a nice deal.

The fords, new and used are just ridiculously priced. Me thinks they ae pricing themselves right out of the market share they used to hold.

and POWER Equipment. ;) Besides, we need a TRUCK to haul our chainsaws in, no?

No, I was not going to get into details with the guy. As I pulled away slowly, I eyeballed the "green" front plate behind the front wheel, which obviously said "Ecoboost" but I could not make out if it was a 3.5l or 2.7. But the truck was a 2016.

I see more rams than I used to see around here as well, but Ford's outselling the other brands still.
They all are expensive now. You're just seeing more trucks since gas is cheap, for now.

Yep, mog is good. That's a Mercedes that was designed to be worked on by its owner, unlike any Mercedes from the past couple of decades.
