I didn't realize they went to Ram till I got my new work truck. When did this change occur when they dropped the dodge? Is it cause everyone talked about how crapy dodge trucks were? But everyone knows that a RAM is a dodge?

Oh, you're one of them huh?
    You know, that's true.
Can you imagine if "Bubba" pulled up in his f250 gas V8 and flipped the switch to dump a bunch of gas/oil/whatever down the intake...as soon as the glass packs start cackling and the blue cloud starts flying he'd be laughed outta town

When Honda makes the EcoNOSSS Ridgeline "truck", then you can blame the fast and the furious. Lol

Negative.. It may run a 1/4 mile faster.. I'll still break it's axles. ;)

Just sayin.. And no Ecoboost get near 21 MPG. Quit reading magazines.

    Not mad at you brotha!!

Glad they settled on the Ecoboost!

Mine had a $53k sticker. For a half ton, that's about average. My buddy has a 2015GMC Denali 1500 that was $70k with a gasser. Nice azz truck. But I'd still take my little diesel that will preform day to day.

Gas engines Rev twice as high and the Ecoboost has 2 turbos.

So an engine that turns twice the RPM will wear out twice as fast (cylinder walls, valves, valves guides, rings, etc..).

Earned a lot more respect for the Ecoboost with all the links. But mileage, actual towing, etc. I'll still take my little baby diesel. HE is nice. Torque is what you use.. And to have more torque and a LOT better fuel economy (real world)? Makes my wallet smile

Both are great machines. I love Ford trucks. Owned them my whole life (3 Rangers, several cars, my 03 Crewcab FX4 F-150 I still have). As stated earlier. GMC/Chevy I think has the best looks. Ford is a close 2nd. I wanted those as my 1st pics. But months of research? Had me with the Dodge if I was found half ton. If 3/4 ton??? Well.....

It would still be Dodge ;) lol Cause the Cummins (now let the debate begin!!). I've heard the 6 cylinder over the 8 cylinder of Ford/Chevy for years..

I think a hyper miler can but generally the 20+mpg is a joke.
    2014 Ford F-150 MPG - Actual MPG from 209 2014 Ford F-150 owners
    2016 2016 Ford F-150 MPG - Actual MPG from 171 2016 Ford F-150 owners

    2016 2.7 filter options at the top.2016 Ford F-150 MPG - Actual MPG from 75 2016 Ford F-150 owners

Better than the 3.5 but still not great.
On the forums it seems the Eco has the power of a six banger with the fuel economy of a v8.

This is why you are seeing 6-8-10 speed transmissions, and of course the aluminum can box.

On topic id go with the dodge, towing its a draw on paper but towing with a FI small cube gasser would be ridiculous(horrible mpg), but resale will be higher on the dodge years down the road. No dented box and a tuner on the diesel would be cool.
If the Ford never was worked or used as a truck I'd go with the ford.

Most engines last lots longer now days. I spin the pizz out of all my factory motors past their factory rpm.
But you're point on mpg is right on!!!
A turbo gasser runs much richer under boost towing, its a backwards design. The Ecoboost is for occasional towing if any.

The Ram trucks are 7 year/100k drivetrain war. Ford is 3 year/36k.

Did you read that thread on the ecodiesel forum that someone posted in this thread? It looks like the warranty on the ecodiesel is not working out to well for some.

I don't think I would buy a 2014 Ecodiesel. That was the 1st year it came out...

This one is the SHIZZLE!! Only problem is the very light leather, I would kill that in a week. I need either dark brown or black leather. Dang, you getting VERY close though!!! I have to check out Autotrader....

Nice, but I'm scared of the 2014. ;) Common, I know you can find one for me!!

PERFECT!! Better for me! Could care less about that since I will keep it about 15 years. Cheaper they are, the better! ;)
