Last load cut today. White oak birch and beech. IMG_1647.JPG IMG_1646.JPG IMG_1648.JPG Ended up splitting the entire load right off the PU. Birch filled out a half cord rack of such. IMG_1653.JPG IMG_1654.JPG Lots of nuggets/shorts IMG_1652.JPG
Still some white oak left from yesterdays load. IMG_1649.JPG Score done. Couldve had a lot more from it, but two cords not bad.

Its a good feeling to have what you want from the score and be done with it.
Especially when there are other scores to be had!
I have maybe 1 more small load at the roadkill ash score.
Im more surprised others haven't gotten to it. There were an awful lot of rubberneckers oir last day there. I sensed jealousy from some.

The ones that saw you, conceded the scrounge as being yours, perhaps, and respected the situation. There is honor among hoarders! Well, among some of them.

I too have driven by scrounges that were easy, looked good, and would have been profitable for the time spent. I knew I didnt have the time, so enjoyed watching someone else get it.
Course those times were also motivation to get my rear in gear.

While we were out there, one fellow drove by 3 times, slow, head twisting all the way around. If he or anyone from the area wanted some, I'd have bucked it to length for them, maybe even helped them load it.
Or maybe he was jealous because we all looks good with our shirts off, sweating like crazy, jacked up from swinging mauls. .....

Split the remaining wood late today. Moved some of the white oak splits to a temporary stack. These didnt. IMG_1669.JPG Front mound is beech ill give to my friend. Back mound is white oak heartwood with no bark. IMG_1670.JPG
Have room for fresh wood again.

I did, but working. No wooding other than pulling some splits for a bundle order. I had kinda planned on hoarding depending what time we finished which was after 4 so cancelled that. Saw was in the truck ready to go.
It was friggin humid so wooding wouldnt have been too much fun.

I have a scrounge that is something "new" to me and have to hit maybe tomorrow. Stay tuned to the FHC channel to find out what it is! Picked up a couple BIG jobs and will keep me busy and away from hoarding during the week....dang.
