Not really turned down, but with the current stacking situation i need the other wood first. Like ive said in the past, if i had a lot more room id take more oak. Passed up on a decent red oak score last week.

Load number two cut this afternoon. Record temps with dewpoint in the mid 70's. Only an idiot:nerd:would hoard wood on a day like today, but hey, gotta get it while its hot!
Beech, black birch, sassafras, and some red maple. IMG_1517.JPG IMG_1518.JPG IMG_1519.JPG High visibility shirt had much visible dirt! IMG_1520.JPG At least a couple more loads to be had.

    Only an idiot:
Would work all day, lad and stack a pick-up of splits, go out on errands and dinner with a friend, and load a bed and trailer load for sunrise work for tomorrow morning...
And both of us going for showers feeling.good about the evening.

    I shall not.
But we just desalinized and feel much better.
After our first load, we headed for Friendly's, 5 scoop sundae each, and loaded waffle fries shared.
Never again, prices waaaaay too high, $50 for that order!

Will spend the day stacking tomorrow.
You out collecting,.even in the wee morning hours?

Did some stacking today. BL and birch from recent scores. Included going after more pallets and assembling another rack. Have a load of BL splits on the PU as i type. Year and a half old being moved down the street to my "exclusive" BL storage!

Probably wont cut another load as some left to split at storage and need empty truck for Sunday. Ill hit this score again next week.

I grew up in MA…I miss the Fribble! And eating a full Reese’s Pieces sundae was a right of passage!

Sadly, I could not stuff the whole thing in. But, eating loaded fries at the same time didnt help. I just don't eat large meals anymore.

You're right on though, that 5 scoop sundae was a "thing" with me when I was younger!
I quit their Fribbles when they quit stocking Malt powder.
And nowdays, fribble sounds like something one does after hours with the wife....

Thanks Brad! I’m good for now. May take you up on it down the road when I get a better way to haul firewood.

You are spot on about the free wood situation in CT. I’m amazed at what people give away. Then again, they don’t burn and want to save a few bucks. In VT, there’s very little free wood given away. I haven’t looked in awhile, but you’ll sometimes see softwood.

From many years of roofing ive learned dirt stains dont come out. Sometimes ill pre treat them a bit when that dirty or ill prewash first. I was soaked with sweat and the wood was loosing bark so all the schmutz was sticking to me like glue. I love the dri core shirts for hot weather.

Oh and to answer your prior question...my PU has an 8' bed.

This will also work on shirts like buZZsaw BRAD 's or your blue one. I did some older towels and two shirts I wear over a t-shirt that looked like Brad's, it worked great.

Make sure you mix it up good before you put your shirts or towels in.

It came out better than i expected. Sometimes ill treat the area with detergent first. I dont worry too much about them coming fully clean. They get caulk, paint, sap, roofing cement and other work related permanent stains. Ill run them through on a complete cycle with no soap then a full cycle with soap. In the hot weather ill put a couple tablespoons of bleach too as we dont use scented detergent.

Havent been able to get back for third load until this afternoon. More cutting had been done. Someone took the burled birch i had put aside for milling! Oh well. IMG_1625.JPG
Mostly white oak and beech with a little black birch in todays load. IMG_1636.JPG IMG_1637.JPG IMG_1638.JPG
Took this interesting beech log for milling. Grew back into itself. Should make for a couple interesting boards. IMG_1631.JPG IMG_1632.JPG Moved a log and saw something furry run slowly back under it. Momma mouse with three babies "holding" on for dear life. Let them go in the woods. IMG_1627.JPG IMG_1626.JPG IMG_1628.JPG IMG_1629.JPG Her teats mustve been rather sore after that. I know mine wouldve been! :D

Hate the little buggers in the house, but love seeing them in the woods!
