A little while ago, my Grandmaw, her 2 sons and her grandson decided to make a wee trip to Lower Saxony to visit the German Tank Museum in Munster. My Grandmother served as a civi employer under the British and later under German Command..i still have her dogtag somewhere flyin about. The WW2, fleeing their home is still an issue upto this day, so i think it was a little crazy for her to watch all this stuff in the museum. We looked at all those iron pigs, had a cuppa coffee and a piece of cake and went home to finish the day with bbq and beers. Anyway, i took some pictures and i highly recommend the place. Most of the staff are Veterans from all branches who will be happy to share information and opinions. We start with this german Mephisto / A7V Tank from WW1: A german made LK 2 in swedish camo, in service with the swedish forces until 1938.
Mr Porsche made some sweet ones too. Is it just me, or does anyone else think how awesome these would be for hauling trees out of the woods?
Nope, not just you, i was thinking the exact same thing, have some aggressive tracks on them for snow, and you'd have it made.
I was just at the PX at Ft. McCoy last year. The wife is from LaCrosse and we go out there every year.
My mom's side of the family is from that area. Sparta, Tomah, Wilton, all that area. My mom was one of 7 brothers and sisters and all but my mom we're farmers. I've got so many cousins I can't even count them all. Lol
That's funny you say that, My wife is doing the Ancestry family tree and did the DNA thing, Her Family is spread all through Arcadia, Trempealeu, LaCrosse, Black River, some in Minnesota. Few sparatic folks in Michigan. My family is that way in New England. I have dozens and dozens of cousins from Boston, north! I think I'm related to half the town of Gloucester, Mass. My Father and Grandfather were Irish/English fisherman settled in Gloucester. My Grandfathers brother stayed in New foundland. I have relatives all through there to Nova scotia as well. Like you, I could trip over folks up there and somehow be related!
