$1.35 yesterday. commodity prices aren't helping any of us with investments.... unless you're pouring money into energy for the long haul
I filled up at 1.37 a gallon today. There's talk that we could have had under $1 a gallon here soon with the switch to summer grade gas upcoming and having to use the winter grade stuff up. One of my 401k's is up a healthy amount but my other one is down a little. So if I go to change them around they will both tank. Lol. Even though it's not funny.
I paid $1.57 per gallon today filling up the truck, the original price was $2.07, we had .50 cents off per gallon for shopping at the Price Chopper the other day, you buy a certain amount of groceries and get x amount off per gallon.
and the low price of oil is killing my 401k. i know other things factor in as well but the price of crude has alot to due with it. how is your 401 doing?? I have lost over 50K in the past month
I have not bought diesel for my truck in a very LONG time (hubby either uses it or takes it to charge the battery. He fills the tank for when and if I (or he/we need it), went to town last week and it was atleast $2 dollars less than last time I filled up, WOW!! Still miss the 30 gal tank on the Blaze and the dual tanks on the F250 regardless.
You mentioned having to charge your battery once in a while. Ice cold conditions constantly drain vehicle batteries. A great way to end the problem and make your batteries last longer, during the winter months, is a Battery Tender. You attach the small plug to the battery, which stays (red & blue ends, with it's own protective cap) hanging out of the front grill just a bit. Just plug in to the Tender and leave it. It will keep the battery at full charge automatically, using very little power (trickle charge) It's a good idea to route the cable around the driverside mirror so you don't drive off with it still attached. Don't ask how I know that...
OMG. I thought I was the only idiot that would do that. I have a Dodge diesel with a block heater. The first winter, I plugged it in one morning so it would be warm when I went out to plow that night. The extension cord was buried in snow when I went out to leave. I pulled the tarp off the cab and drove away. Thankfully the heater just came unplugged and didn't tear the the wiring. I found the ext. cord stretched down the driveway when I got home and started plowing us out.
Saw a guy drive away from a gas pump with the nozzle still in his tank! That black hose stretched out like a rubber band before the nozzle itself snapped off from the handle and fell inside of his side mount station wagon's gas tank! Because of where the nozzle snapped off, there was no gas spill but I was running for the pump to shut it woof in case it started spraying all over the place. Shut it down not woof! (Must remember to check spellcheck before hitting post button!)
"I was running for the pump to shut it woof in case it started spraying all over the place"... Woof is right... yikes... I wonder if this gal has done that before but, never again...
