I do not understand the "wall street" talk about how the low oil prices are bad for the economy or stock market.
Besides the oil workers & Co's, how is cheaper energy prices anything but good?
Is it the windmill & unicorn people behind it?:loco:

You are fortunate Rotti - just went from 102.9 to 99.9 today here - first time below a loonie per litre in years. And our political leaders sure don't look like they've been on any hunger strikes anytime lately. lol

It's bad for all the billionaires who profit from hedging on market prices and the industry itself. The refineries and fully integrated companies are still making obscene profits. The people who consume the gas, diesel and home heating oil are merely a necessary annoyance only. It IS good and we are fed propaganda to help us feel sorry for the billionaires. Sob, sob. Oh my I can barely handle sadness.

I was happy with 1.84 with my "Cumbi card" discount the other day, but those Ohio prices, holychit! That's cheap!

Maybe it's coming here eventually. We always seem to be about 4-5 years behind the "trends" in western Maine... ;)

Just today I was rounding up 5 gal. cans to have in the truck for the next happy visit to the gas station, (never thought I'd say that) and thinking to myself that it seemed forever it took about $5 to fill a 5g can. That will be my happy Zen price!
Fresh in my memory is the *#&@ $18-$20 for a 5gal can!

Except some people theories is that this is a sign of an impending recession. I know some parts of our business are slower due to lower needs to find oil. Mining is slow too. However, lie had prices allow real people to spend money on things other than fuel. That helps the economy.

I love it. I put $20 in both the 4runner and the allroad, and both vehicles nearly were at a full tank.

We may or may not go into a recession but if we do it will not be due to low oil and gas prices. When gas prices are high a lot of the money paid at the pumps just magically evaporates and is never seen again. When consumers save bucks at the pump it goes right back into the economy and does not end up in a Swiss bank account or a bank in the Bahamas. All this nonsense we are fed are myths just meant to justify gouging pure and simple. Let's enjoy it without guilt or remorse for the ultra wealthy who will say and do almost anything to make more and more and more.

    I agree with you Bob.

Low gas prices also makes processing trees into firewood much cheaper. Gas to get to my land, 30 minutes each way, gas for the quad to haul in the woods, and gas for the saw is cheap. Love it!

Hey, just because I can reminisce about cheap gas, doesn't mean I'm all that old...........does it? If I was that old, I wouldn't even remember 18 cents/gallon.:BrianK:
    I think my grandma had a Model A, though.

I worked at an open 24 hours gas station while I was 17. Only one there from 11-7 on Friday and Saturday nights. Kept me out of a lot of trouble, I presume.
Anyway, the cheapest I have bought gas for was 24.9 a gallon. Nice.
Today, I saw where it has dropped to 1.74 a gallon.
