Gas Prices In Your Area

Does anyone use the upside app. Had a friend tell me about it but never have used it. Does it really save you money.

$3.49 gas $4.39 diesel at Love's today.

 

There are far too many variables with gasoline prices such as sources, refinery cost(s), supply route costs, etc. Prices can't possibly be the same between areas nor vendors.
It sure is interesting the differences though.

 

What I find interesting is the station owner I quoted that was 3.29 owns another station ( same brand ) within 10 miles and the current price was 3.79 the same day . Same truck and driver delivers to both .

 

Location, location, location.

I've been to London a couple times over the years. Almost all the mom and pop pubs and eateries that were on the Main streets and nice 20 years ago are gone. Replaced with chain food corporation eateries. They can afford the rent. But it's the eateries out in the burbs that are helping pay those high rents. Mom and pops usually don't have that kind of option. Kinda sad really because most of those pubs had nice food. Some of them still exist several blocks away from the main streets but they can be tough to find when you're just a tourista.

 

$3.49 for 87 octane in my area of NC is the lowest I've seen.

 

Went up to $3.94 before the weekend.

Oil is up 2.92 a barrel today so far, and going up fast.

 

Yes to $85 ish a barrel; was $95 a barrel last week
So increase or decrease depends on time frames

 

I'm hoping it's just a knee-jerk reaction to current events and goes back to the more recent lowering trend . But if things escalate over there ....

I have some money in futures and it's always what the market will bear plus (some) political influences. Constantly changing.

 

Regardless of the futures market, on a world wide basis most all the strive and misery can generally be tied to 1 or more of 3 things, MONEY, RELIGION or SEX. So following the money generally says a lot.
