My grass is still green under the ice and snow, so doesn't surprise me the carrot tops are green.

Nice to see the greenhouse working out. Those tomatoes are really coming along.

The Pink Ladys are taking over. There are over a dozen tomatoes set.

I have cut the suckers for the third generation.

I will plant them in buckets, too. The plan is to have producing tomatoe
plants when I put them outside next Memorial Day.

    Broccoli is happening.

Kohl rabi may have to go to make room for
starter trays of plants for next summer garden.

Awesome. I never realized that you could root the suckers from the tomato plants. Makes sense though. I just figured out what you mean by second and third generation plants.

...so, last week we had a bit of actual winter.
I forgot to check the greenhouse after the sun came out.
When I did go out, it was 26F outside, 94F inside w/92%RH.
I cracked the door to vent it.
I came upstairs and looked out....thought it was on fire.....

Did anything get scorched or was it all just enjoying the warmth?

There is quite a bit of information available about propagating plants from cuttings.. Some do better with rooting compound.. some just need to be put in water for a while... I’m planning to do the same thing as justdraftn with my tomatoes and peppers this year... may try to do some raspberries, blueberries and blackberries too. Lots of information on YouTube,..

They enjoy the heat to a point. At that temp, they are starting to lean over.
The snap peas have given it up. They can not take it.
It got way too hot for them. Lesson learned.

    That's a good article.
I put just a hint of MiracleGrow in the water to root the suckers.
My 3rd generation plants are just about ready to pot.

If you have access to willow branches, you can use them too,,

I used to root the sucker prunings from my indeterminate tomatoes all the time. I used to let the suckers get a a couple inches longer than you usually might and then just put them in water. Not too many in a cup at a time, I've had too many rot instead of root. A change of water doesn't hurt either. I'd end up with a second crop of tomatoes about 6-7 weeks behind the first. Tomatoes root easy, they would root anywhere they fell over onto the ground if they were allowed to. Other things need a little more persuasion and help.

I love winter, but by the end of March I will be itching to get into the garden here in Zone 4.
