Tomatoes, Serrano & Jalapeno peppers, broccoli, cabbage, zinnias for now. More to come as soon as these can be moved to the greenhouse.
I inherited a old troy bilt horse last Fall. It runs. Blizzard warning for tonight need a better rabbit proof fence - chicken wire fence, they go right thru that 2x3 stuff took the fence down around my apple and peach trees to prune and there was a deer nibbling on the apple this morning
Oh, you want nibbling? I got nibbling. Dang deer and rabbits did a real number on all my Apple trees (1st pic), this burning bush (2nd pic), and another right next to it. Lots of other stuff chewed on too.......I presume due to the harsh winter.
Is that a good surprise or a bad one? I love mushrooms but so far I only get the ones from the grocery store as I know nothing about mushrooms and would hate to eat the wrong ones and end up sick, dead or feeling funny.
Have not even thought of tilling yet. the ground is still sopping wet and would harden up like concrete. this time last year I had all the cool weather stuff in and was flirting with green beans almost.
Same here. I was out there looking around yesterday and so much wanted to dig in, but knew I would regret it. Though not "flirting with green beans" I did have beets and potatoes in the ground in April last year
I got the rabbit food (lettuce, spinach, turnips, radishes), onions, and taters in the ground last week. Was just barely dry enough to till. Peppers and maters are coming along nicely in their trays. Early asparagus should be poking up shortly.
That Troy built tiller is a gem. Take care of it and you will love it for years to come. My garden is still buried under snow and ice. Very rare for me this time of year. I have a solar space and a cloche that is going unused this year. My knee has a broken bone and a torn meniscus. So aside from appointments, I'm not doing much. Come the end of May, I hope to pick up a few things already going. We don't get serious about panting until Memorial Day, then we have three weeks to get the garden in or forget it. When we have a wet June, gardens are mostly just a thought.
The Troy Bilt is the best!! I have one I put a new engine on last year. I've had it for years and years. Way too wet for gardening here right now, but we like to keep a little garden growing and the good wife cans and freezes plenty. a pic of last years',,it keeps getting bigger every year!
Yep, I keep on checking on mine, LOVE that stuff. Mine has poked through yet. But I did have my Rhubarb start coming up.
