It has been a longer season for some flowers and tomatoes than usual, but now it is over.

Kale, beets, and carrots are still available, and he compost piles are still heating.

My strawberries are about done. I’ve been covering them on the colder nights but now that they’ve made it to November they are on their own. Seascape day-neutral, planted in May.

Impressive. I had no idea you could get those this late in the season (out side of a greenhouse).

Final harvest of carrots and beets today.

We have only dropped down to 26f for a low, so the kale is still going strong, but I picked 1/2 of it, some for fresh eating, the rest to freeze.

Dinosaur Kale, also known as Lacinato is an excellent variety for making cooked greens (like collards), salads, and in sauces. I will probably harvest the rest of this today or tomorrow.

Some gardeners have way too much time on their hands! A overactive imagination for sure.

0153E969-C9F8-4E4A-A474-FECC956FF504.jpeg About 45 yellow bell peppers and about 50 red bell peppers. I need to get them into single cells.

I've got a lot of guajillo pepper seedlings . When thinning then out I'll have more than I need. I'll borrow my buddy's rototiller and plant those peppers as well as jalapeno, Serrano, and Roma tomatoes this year.

The garden engine; freshly turned compost after adding the rest of the fish remains from ice fishing, kitchen scraps, wood ash, weeds, soaked leaves, and office coffee grounds/filters. The smaller pile in back is finished compost (now soil) from last season that is being utilized as I plant.

Got way behind the curve due to my father-in-laws recent health issues. Today I made the time to do first till. Sure needed it. I pile grass clipping, leaves and my ashes in there and the weeds took over!
My mojito mint is growing nicely.

So I grow a few things in pots besides in the garden. Cleaning up the pots of winter/spring weeds I came across a mostly rotted jalapeño from last year Just for grins I planted the seeds with little hope they were viable after the winter outdoor abuse. Almost every seed sprouted and I now have 67 seedlings. I really only need one or two plants for myself.
They are a little late but they will catch up with some warm nights.

My trays only fit 48 of these size cells, the rest are mixed in with other plants.
