Some of ours have been a bit purple too. I think it's the cold nights. UNless you planted a purple variety.
I think I lost soem melons to the cold. They don't look good.

a yellow zucchini is trying. No male flowers in sight so unless there is one down the street it will drop off.
Plant is a tad small yet anyway.

Right where I want to be.
    Nice.
Looks like the straw bales are doing well.

Sounds like some areas are getting a cooler Spring than normal.
Garden doing OK, cooler nights here (40°) slowing down the above ground plant growth,
The garden should take off now at 19 hours of sun & should stay above 45° at night .
Garden all in, & the beans are the last to sprout, just now seeing a few trying to poke thru.
Few lettuce plants to set out , a few every week.
Potatoes are up, neighbors dog keep walking thru the patch &
a Sand-hill Cranes stop buy to eat some bugs , sure leave a big bird track.
Should be getting some good sized cucs soon :)

    That's a lot of buckets.
Do you set up drip tubes or water those all by hand ?

One advantage to this cold Spring is I've had lots of really nice lettuce.
Although the first batch that was in the greenhouse has mostly bolted and I've fed the last of it to the tortoise.

Water the buckets by hand and I have a rain barrel. I don't have to water very often because of the amount of rainfall, using grass clippings as mulch, and having sticks in the pots. If anything, I have to be careful not to over water.

I had about 3 times as many buckets last year. Picked them up from the dollar store. The plants do great in containers. I am seriously considering going all bucket and bale gardening at some point.

Off topic, I ditched regular sized tomatoes and I am growing various kinds of cherries. Tomatoes are a huge hassle in this region. I think this is the game plan I am going to stick with from now on.

It's been rain on and off for two weeks, too wet to get in and weed the garden. Well yesterday we dried out enough. I started at 7 am and finalized it about 4 pm with a lunch break. The weeds had taken over the garden to the point it at time was hard to distinguish between plant and weed. The only thing I didn't get was the two lines of Okra. But all plants are looking really good from all the rain. Plus we have about 2250 gallons of rain water in barrels.

I am envious of that garden. Mine isn't planted as yet. I am having issues getting around with this broken knee. Also envious about that nice garden area. No such space available here. With so much woods, and ledge, my spots are here and there. Poor soil I have to really augment for anything to grow. Keep the pics coming please.

Planted some carrots in a 10 gallon bucket.
I've lost two rows of carrots now.

You are way ahead of my garden.
But have been eating radishes , spinach & green onions.
The low night temps near 40° have most stuff in the garden waiting for warmer weather.

    Been eating cucumbers
for the past week from the Greenhouse.

I'm impressed, (and a bit jealous ). You are really a determined gardener. Fresh veggies already. Can't beat that. Food that is fresh and free of unknown chemicals.

Strawberries are done. Picked the last few last night. Picked the cherry tree for the last time last night too.

Getting a handfull of blueberries every day, but nothing to get excited about.

Got more lettuce and snow peas than I know what to do with. Waiting game on everything else.

    Lukem,

Wow, got quite the list there. Must have a pretty good size plot?

I have a 50x50 area fenced, then right outside is a 50x30 for corn and melons. All the fruit is right beside the garden (north and east).
