Ok it's a latching relay is all. I know I have a bunch of Potter &Brumfield 120v ones in my.....hoard. 8th pallet rack third shelf in the middle.
I could send you one if my sentence is commuted.

Same location and I believe a few 24vac ones also.
Yeah I know that storage building like the back of my hand. Yet I'm constantly loosing stuff I was just using.

So I decided to latch the door back on and use the opener since it has behaved ever since I cleaned the contacts of the relay/solenoid...but now the door opens a couple inches further than it used to, and stops a couple inches short of closed!
Easy enough to understand had I screwed with the limit switch adjustments, but I didn't! I didn't touch any of that stuff!
So I started to readjust the stops and dropped a little #10 sized nut...couldn't find it anywhere! Last possible place it could have went was a little hole in the floor, just big enough to get your thumb in (collateral damage from when the PO had a floor drain put in) so I go get a mechanics magnet, and sure enough, that's where it went...only wasted half an hour! :hair:
Anyways, I'm adjusting things and operating the door up/down maybe 10-12 times over about a 5 minute period when the motor starting cap lets out some "magic smoke" :picard: guess I definitely need a new one of those now. What is weird is the smoke didn't stink the way a fried cap usually does (kinda like fried creosote or something) and the motor starts/runs just the same as it always has...I'm still gonna get a new cap though.
