    Sad but true...

    I was trying to purchase a replacement propeller for an outboard motor earlier this year from Bass Pro. I told the parts clerk it was a 2001 model year, regular shaft 15 HP 2-stroke Mercury and that I wanted a 9" prop with about a 10 pitch. The clerk said he could only look it up if I gave him the part number which I didn't have.

    He then said he could look it up if I told him what boat the motor on was. I said "pardon??? o_O"

    He couldn't find the prop with the info I gave him but he said he could tell me the correct replacement prop for my motor if I told him the boat the motor was on. :picard:
    I said thanks...but I'll take my business elsewhere.
