    Every year we make a road trip to Illinois in the spring. Every year Ohio will have many miles of interstate coned down to one lane in each direction and reduced speed limits. While driving through this you can't help but notice that there is no equipment or workers anywhere in site for most of the "work zone". Out of the maybe 50 miles of coned road you might see activity for 200 yards here and there or maybe even a mile.

    We were just commenting about the same practice here. Last summer, barrels went up and about 2 months passed before any work began!

    Nope. Actually we tried a different route on the return trip this year. Two lane road most of the way, almost no construction and no tolls. It brought us back to the interstate just west of Cleveland. The route was slower but about the same total time by not dealing with construction.
