Was at a mom and pop restaurant in the town near the tree farm. Bulletin board had a post, for five pine trees that had been cut down- free. I am sure all the experts snorted and walked on.

I cut, split and burn a fair amount of pine. A pine that grew in mature forest often have (much) fewer knots Than the pines I've been blessed with, having grown as pioneer species and are full of knots. I've cut enough pioneer pine that I consider them ugly trees. Especially the ones with multiple trunks. LOL.
The few I get from my lot that are not pioneer trees I wish I had a bandsaw mill for. Nice straight grained wood. Almost a shame to turn into firewood, but they sure do split easy.

Looks to me like the operator ran out of skill to connect the cuts. Nice try though... :D.

They did the bottom cut. And all fairly straight. If I see the homeowner again, Ill inquire. We were a little short on time...He wanted dinner, I wanted to get done, and it was getting chilly as the sun went behind 100' EWP's.

I managed a couple hours of cutting today. It felt good to get out and work. I got 4 or 5 logs noodled, and will noodle more before splitting. Then split and load another day.

I spent more time on devos today, kinda limited cutting time before work.
Not sure if the difference in pile size can be noticed in this pic.

Its been almost 2 weeks since I’ve made firewood and the forecast is looking good this weekend. There’s empty and partial racks everywhere that need fixing.

As a wrap-up, I took maybe 2 cord out of this score. I stopped when I started going around the back of the pile to work it, and was getting farther from trailer parking.
As of a couple days ago, the pine is in a pile on my splitting pad at home, waiting to be stacked. It's end grain checking already in this dry spring we've had. I'm hoping for another pine score this year. I have less than half a cord for this fall of '23, and these 2 cord for the next year.
