It's been hovering around 2.81 - 2.84 at most places here in southern NH for the past week.

I've always heard how much cheaper everything in the south is but aren't the salaries generally much lower as well?

I wonder where the best part of the country for income level as a ratio to overall cost of living. Maybe I'll have to look it up.

I paid $3.69 a gallon for diesel a few days ago and was grateful to see the price below $4.00 for the first time in a long time. 24 gallons for less than $90 is a treat. Kinda sorta maybe I guess.

I've heard countless people who live in NY state complain about how expensive it is. Why don't more people get out if it's that bad?

I'd like to go some place else but family politics seem to slow the idea down a bit. Kids, school, my better half's family is here, just bought a house 2 1/2 years ago, and finding the "right place" to go to as well.

Then there's the somewhat decent jobs with good benefits we both have and my business in my shop at home has exploded the last 2 or 3 years.

Best way to word it for me is stuck between a rock and a hard place trying to keep everyone in the family happy.

Crime in my hubbys home town is out of control. I have no idea why his father still lives there.

Yes they are membership, but I am lucky in that I get them and Sam's Club through work, so I can go on my own!

$2.63, full service. That's about the only thing this state is good for.

NJ is one, but just gasoline. You can pump diesel. Oregon is the other I believe.

I've run into people who don't know how to use a gas pump.

Very strange. I didn't know until recently when I heard about Oregon. Hard to believe there are grown people that cant do something most 15 year olds know how to do
