This is a pair of M-1989 spec US Forest Service kevlar chainsaw chaps, made by Reyes Industries in 1995. Marked "FSS" and "28". Standard USFS green in color. I bought these 20+ years ago as surplus, didn't have a clue how to measure chaps, thought they were supposed to be close to my inseam measurement. The correct measurement is actually from the top of your belt to the top of your foot (ankle or bottom of pants leg), and these are about 10" too short for my 6' frame. Perfect for someone who is maybe 5' to 5'4" tall. They are in perfect condition, never cut, no wear, just a little dirty because I wore them for a few hours. Will try to post a picture or two or I can text or e-mail photos much easier from my phone if you're interested and want to send me a PM. Asking $25 plus you pay shipping. What's your leg worth?
Yeah, good on you for making sure the kids have PPE. I'll calculate shipping if you want to send me your zip code.
Address information sent. I grew up running saws and I didnt wear chaps. I had a few close calls that could have benefited the use of chaps but nothing major. When I went to work for the state conservation department I had to wear chaps....and they probably saved my life...at least my left leg. So I'm a believer now.
I got them. Just got back home from being away for work. They are in awesome shape and condition. Should work fine for the boy. Thanks for the fantastic deal.
