I've played it, have a set in the garage too. It can only be played as a drinking game at this house though.
So The Wood Wolverine, do you have some ash pan heads ready for these beauty sticks you've produced, or ya gonna slap on a standard ash shovel w/ a screw for attachment?
Sweet! This milling thing seems to be your new vector?.... Any significant grain patterns to speak of? I'd say that milling would tucker out a fella, yes?
Very neat looking grain, Sir x2 on the rifle stock idea. We have some family heirlooms with stocks like that
Beautiful shovel Wood Wolverine! Don't let Babaganoosh see it though-- prolly be illegal to own one in New Jersey!
I made a coupe more so if anyone is interested, hit me up. $20 shipped sound reasonable? I did just sell one and sent it while @ the UPS store (also shipping a saw). They charged me $12 to send it to OH!!!! So won't be using them again for these. The one with the screw still in it was an experiment in finish recipe. With that one, after 3 layers of analine dye, I soaked a small piece of fine steel wool with boiled linseed oil and schmeared in in for about 15 minutes. After that dried, I used the same finish (Hope's tung oil varnish). Needs another coat IMO, so still experimenting. It really accented the grain of the wood and the figured stripes got much darker. Photographing tiger maple usually is best in natural sunlight, which I did not do. The flash does not do justice. Remeber, these were firewood pieces so there is some "character" in them, and I'm far from an expert on a lathe. Gettin' better though!
