    Liquid water outside today. :)

Must be our "January thaw" .
We get winter for 2 months straight ,
The jet stream is leveling out.
Will bring warm air to the East coast,

Cold air will set in here now thru mid March (Gosh I hope I'm wrong)

Forecast here says -10 f. with wind chill of maybe -37 f. The Encore is loaded with fat splits of black locust and mulberry. The propane furnace may assist tonight, but it sure won't run at all as often or at all as long as it would with no stove.

Our outside gauge is reading about - 10 the wind chills I am not sure of but it is COLD! We in anticipation put shrink plastic on the back windows and boy are we glad we did that. The plastic is very cold but the draft is gone. The stove was superdrafting from the cold and I had to close the damper and turn it down. On the bright side Its very beautiful outside right now as well!

Sure it makes sense, it is all in which side of the low pressure area you are on as to where the air flow comes from. When you get to the other side the temperature goes the other way and fairly fast.

Outside was single digits this morning and the driveway is a skating rink. Going to try to get to town to pick up a package and to drop off some stuff, we might make it off the lot and we might not. Have plenty of sand but there is a lot of ice and two hills to contend with.

Pete when I see icicles, I think not enough attic/ceiling insulation.
Rare to see icicles on houses here.

Insulation is one of the best money saving upgrades you can do for the money,
if you can get access to the attic.

Dave we had foam sprayed in the walls a few years ago actually the same guys who did Dennis's insulation. Our real problem now is the attic area! I have been slowly dumping bags of insulation into the attic as I can find time to but its a lot of space to fill. Our home heats up very well and is far better since the insulation.
