That's nuts, we just went through -32 to -41 (wind chill temps) I can't imagine -70.

It's about 27 degrees tonight so we're burning the pellet stove so I can clean the ashes out of the wood stove tomorrow morning before heading to the woods.

Monday night we go back in the dumper, -23 wind chill, Tuesday will be -13 during the day and - 18 at night, both are wind chill temps.

Come next weekend I'm taking the sled out, unless we lose our snow.

Waiting for the crud to hit tomorrow. Supposed to be rain but looks like it could be ice instead. Keep an eye on the forecasts. I'll be drawing flushing water again.

First time in my life i can remember seeing negative temps. Maybe i just wasnt paying attention to temps when i was growing up but my truck was showing -3 on my way into work yesterday and that's the coldest i've ever seen. Woke up to freeing rain this morning but thankfully it's warming up a bit. They're callin for possibly even colder temps on tuesday. High of 12deg and low's back in the negatives. o_O

    Grocery store sales are up.
I'd think fire wood sales would be booming.
Bet the wood bundles at the quick stores are selling well.

Frozen pipes will be the next big thing on the news,

The prez may call him "Just a plumber"
But Joe the plumber & his buddies are gonna be busy.

    36° here

Some of the forecasted temps are warmer than first projected, but
Minnesota & N Dakota still in the eye of the cold.
Current temperature at Grand Forks Air Base -20 (wind chill -45) o_O
That's cold by any standard !

This might sum up a lot of grocery stores. Parking lot was pretty full at the local grocery store yesterday.

    38°f here this morning.
Many below zero temps in the Mid west & it's heading East.
    Wind blowing too.

Keep the skin covered if outside in the wind,
& hang out close to the stove when inside. :)

    Stay warm :)

Pretty much nailed it except my thermometer says 4. :)

No idea how strong the winds are. If I had to guess, a steady 15-20 with gusts to 30. I'm between lake effect bands now and the sun is shining. Makes it look a lot warmer than it is.

I ran the snowblower down the driveway a couple hours ago. Two foot drifts over about 2/3 of it. It's half covered again. At least I tried.

First time I ever ran the snowblower with a snowmobile helmet on. That was the best thing I could think of to keep the wind off my face. Couldn't see a darn thing about halfway through.

A fur trimmed hood works well.
Keeps the wind away from your face
& don't have to fight the fogging up face shield .

Cold weather helmets have have a rubber respirator mouth/nose cover to
Keep the breathing moisture out of the helmet

    To get colder there soon
