I got the new carb in the mail, but tried injecting it behind the sparkplug before messing with the carb and it ran... maybe the mechanic in a bottle is worth more than negative money. I rev’d it and let it idle for a while. We’ll see if it starts again cold.

I tried again after dinner, and while not real cold, it started on the first pull. I can tell it has way less power than the stihl I was borrowing, but noodles an oak round I was having issues splitting and it was cutting better than the stihl because the chain and bar are in much better shape. It made quick work of the round but did get pinched real easy when I was cutting off a knot section.

A sharp chain will make a world of difference.

Thanks for the help everyone; I’m excited about my first chainsaw. I may play around on a muffler mod for this as I think a little more power could go a long way. I’m also going to keep my eyes peeled for a battery and electric saw, but this one should be my “go to”for the time being.
