    In the woods I cut 8' or 16' depending on log size & access, a logger tape is fine for this. On the deck I just bent a couple coat hangers to bolt under a bar nut on the saw. When cutting from the left side of the log I just hold the saw in place & keep my eye on the spot on the log that the marker pointed too. Firewood for sale needs to be pretty consistent for many stoves/customers. No extra steps & no real investment in this method. I'm certain I wouldn't use a laser to make firewood, but as was stated, they're on every other type of saw these days.

    You guys sure do. Her Murano is down (needs new tranny). I was at the place yesterday and just listening to the mechanics talk to the owner was all Chinese to me. I remember getting stuck with my fathers 67 Chevy PU and having to loosen the wing nut on the air filter to tweak the carb. The good old days.

    Uh oh! Last I heard there weren't any transmissions in the country for those. CVT and they all fail prematurely.

    Yeah, Nissan has had troubles for years on those CVT's. Add in supply chain issues and there's big issues.

    Made a couple of these last winter. Used a stick and chalk for years. These work great. 26C175DF-6204-440B-A5F6-4E29CAC5C38F.jpeg

    I've used this for years, but I need to make a nut for the dolkita.

    It's a whip on an air hose connector. Quick detach when you don't want it on. An FHC member made this and sent me it years ago. IMG_20150628_201647566(1).jpg

    dont remind me! :picard::hair:

    It died a couple months ago. We shopped for new and not much we liked plus little for sale new, but almost bought something. After test drive and consideration fix the better option.

    You may not have used a laser for cutting even pieces, but I’m pretty sure you used one when stacking those rows:rofl: :lol: Seriously sweet looking stacks though!:thumbs:

    Neat gadget but I'll stick with my cut off hoe handle and spray paint. No dead batteries or other things to go wrong. And I'm not quite so anal as to need perfection an inch or so either way works pretty good for me.

    With an OWB that will take up to 32" and a splitter that will take up to 27", I cut what I can lift /split easily. I have a couple of stacks for drastically different lengths. For the amount I burn I don't have the time or desire to make them the same length. My stacks may be ugly, but the heat isn't.

    Nope. MY MIND IS JUST FINE. But like I said, my stacks do not look like that now. When I was younger, I cut every stick perfectly to the same length. Now, I don't do that. If it fits the stove, that's good enough. Too old to be fussy, but the mind is fine!
