Pretty sure it's 1 HP, but I'll check again when I get back out to the shop (whenever that might be).
That's the exact same saw I have. Might even be the same year. I have a 6" riser on mine. I am pretty sure I paid $400 for mine and that was used, back around 2004. It runs a sharp 1/4" blade on it most of the time. I need to install a quick release blade tension lever at some point, because turning that handwheel on top every time is a pain. I have the Delta mobile base on mine, but I don't like it because the saw is a bit top heavy, especially with the riser, and vibrates a lot during use. Needs a more stable solution.
Hmm, ........ 6TPI then? More TPI? I would like to do some (or a lot) resawing, so a wider/coarser blade is better for that? This is starting to remind me of TS blade setups.
6 TPI is good for a 1/4" wood blade for cutting curves and whatnot in a workpiece. If you want to resaw, get a 3/4" 3 or 4 TPI blade.
Bit of an update.......... Been messing around trying to get the 1/4" blade to track, and it just wasn't. After checking all the guides, NONE were where they should have been. Got those moved out of the way and what do ya' know? Blade tracks just about perfectly. The tires might need to be replaced, but they're urethane, so I think I'll wait until I finish setting up the saw before ordering new. New 1/2" 3TPI Timberwolf blade, and a set of "Coolblocks" should be here today. The original guides are steel. That seems like a bad idea to me. Took off the table, and started cleaning everything too. The "trunnions" for the table seem to be in good shape, but they had a lot of sawdust and buildup on 'em. Might get this thing fired up in a day or two. I've got a whole bunch of rough Pine and Spruce I'd like to resaw. So Jon fishingpol , you can rest easy knowing I'm finally getting to this. Hey, it only took about 6 months.......that's quick for me.
I was running low on popcorn... Half my shop is packed away, so I haven't done any good projects since last fall. Just necessary repairs and honey do list items. I do have a new blade to install once I'm all set up again.
Blade and blocks showed up while we were gone today. Waay too cold for shop time, and I'm tired, so maybe by Fri. or so I can get back to this. Which is exactly why I got mah butt in gear. I learned how to fold a BS blade and when I tried it, worked like a charm, so I did another.....same result. Now, if I can manage to unfold w/o ripping my face off, I'll be happy.
