I don't mind cleaning up after myself, but the situation you describe would definitely warrant a work stoppage. I've helped homeowners pile brush, start a fire to burn limbs, rake, etc. If it's time sensitive I'll give a window when I can get the wood gone and stick by it, but it's got to be a two way street. This guy is definitely hip to that so far. Very kind and helpful - he even had his crew of three help me load the truck once while he touched up the chains and got the gear put away at the end of a job. He also stuck up for me in a property dispute where a neighbor thought they had rights to some wood that partially over hung their boundary.
Absolutely. Even in yards that are like mine - more weeds and holes than a backyard golf course - I always make sure to get a clear picture of where I can drive, what time I can be on the property, whether or not I can run a saw, etc.
