Wondering if the Forester Woodsman Helmet system is any good, or if I should just go with Stihl Helmet system?

Looks good except for that snow or sawdust catcher on the top.

I've been looking at forestry helmets too.

I thought about that too. A lot of the other ones don't have anything to stop the chips/ dust from falling in your face. Maybe the solution is to tip your head down after a long cut to clear the chips that settle on the helmet, regardless of the brand/ style? I know that besides being safer, that getting chips and dust from cloth hats after cutting, kind of sucks sometimes.

Dont know about that one, or the stihl one. But I will add that I have the echo helmet and I love it! I dont cut without it anymore. The one pictured looks like it would do the job just fine also

I bought an Elvix. They seem to make a full line of safety equipment.Haven't tried it yet but I suspect any helmet is better than none.
Has anyone used one of these?

I have that helmet, minus the cover.

Fits nice, and the hearing protectors adjust ok for me.

Got that with chaps last year I believe.

What ever helmet you decide to purchase remember one very important thing: lift the face shield before you spit!

I would think if they are ANSI rated, they should perform how they are supposed to.

So Menards didn’t have the helmet in stock so I thought I’d try this one out. What a POS! Had to assemble it so I couldn’t try it on in the store. Took it home assembly tried it on. Didn’t fit well, ear muffs didn’t cover ears, side of helmet got in the way of the muffs. Felt like a kids toy.

I figured I’d get what I paid for. Of course Menards took it back no questions asked so no big deal.

I’m just going to get a good Stihl one and have the kids give it to me for Christmas.

That’s some good advice right there Ralphie Boy ! I’m sure I’ll still have to learn the hard way a few times! The wife says I’m a slow learner.

Picked up this Stihl helmet the other day. King if speedy at $89.99, but I’m sure it will be worth it. I’ll have the kids “give” it to me for Christmas!
