    The other day the wife and I where in Farm and Home and they had a huge pile of these bags. ( We use pellets to light the wood stove / get it going fast ) These Michigan pellets are a new one on me but man do they burn HOT! We use an old metal soup can to pour them in and normally we use a whole can however these I can just pour a small handful in and they race off but burn forever even in a wood stove. Thought I'd share these pellets with you fellas. I know it's not the same but the burning aspect should be similar in theory. Sorry if the pics are crooked I'm still trying to remember which way to hold the iPad when I take them.

    Good price, would like to hear about them when used in a pellet stove. We are always on the hunt for hot pellets, esp. when priced right.

    Maybe they got their formula right this season. I bought a couple tons two seasons ago and they were lacking in heat but plentiful in ash. I finished them up last year and 14 bags overflowed the ash pan in my furnace, which usually only needs to be dumped every 25 bags or so.
    I've all but given up on that brand. But, in the pellet world sometimes last seasons trash is this seasons treasure.

    True that :) and on the other hand last years treasure is this years trash ya just never know,just keep buying and trying ;)

    They've been terrible in the past....someone who has them available in their area needs to TOFTT and buy 3-4 bags to test out.

    I never had much luck with them either. Lots of ash and not much heat IMHO. o_O

    imacman.......I'm thinking to TOFTT and buy a bag of your favorites "InstantHeat's" and do a review on them. The local TSC has LOTS of them. o_O

    It's supposed to get into the 40s next week, I have to make a run to Menards tomorrow anyways and the furnace will need an ash pan dump by Monday. Maybe I'll break down and get 5 or so bags and see what happens. Worst case I save my good pellets for cooler weather. Best case maybe they improved this season.

    Gonna have to get my jtakeman ash scales and measuring apparatus ready. If past history holds true I'll know the answer after the ash pan is opened a couple inches. May as well make it semi official.

    Take one for the team.

    I think it originated in the pellet world for the poor soul who had to try the latest creations from the Inferno pellet mill and report back to the rest of us.

    I burned maybe 10 bags last year and they weren't bad

    I use pellets in my wood eater also, just a handful on some coals and it makes wood take right off. :)
