    I hope everything that went into bloom early down there does okay. Looks like March isn't ready to completely let go of winter just yet.

    The early spring magnolias like saucer and star often get frost burned. 29 is the coldest temp in my 10 day. Poplars, elms, Japanese maple’s and dogwoods have started breaking buds in the past week.

    There's some sassy around here, but I've never noticed it flowering like that. I'll have to be on the lookout.

    You don’t even need spring flowering Asian imports if you had a yard full of Sassafras, Sourwood and Dogwood. I haven’t had much luck Carolina Silverbell. The Voles eat the roots.

    Ah so that’s a native cultivar. Most of the ones I see in the wild up here have solid white bracts.

    Yes, everything in the wild is White. It’s difficult to find real pinks in the nursery trade.

    I like dogwoods. We have 2 and they seem to bloom much later than others.
