Sorry the Echinacea seems to be sterile. Not really surprised though.

My Echinacea has run out. I had it for several years. It would reseed itself, but my luck has run out. I can't attend the beds as I use to. I still put some things in, then hope for the best.

Lupines in Winthrop, ME. They were growing in very sandy soil. They smelled like honey. IMG_20200613_1693.jpg IMG_20200613_4992.jpg IMG_20200613_35850.jpg IMG_20200613_17529.jpg

Love Lupines. I bought 6 packets of seed from drug. The pack says sow 6 - 8 weeks before last frost. A little late this year. I think I will fall sow.

It seem like a nice little corner of Maine. The friends we were visiting live in Mount Vernon.

    Felix Crouse peonies

Felix has a little more red than Madame Debatene and more double ruffles. However the scent is much milder and a light floral (Madame is a strong rose scent while Felix is a mild)

Long time residents, or did you plant them after you moved in? Peonies are amazingly durable. My in-laws hoisted up a granite foundation slab that had fallen over who knows how many years ago, and peonies sprouted up.

    These were here already.

We have a guy in town that claims on FB that his peonies are over 100 years old. I think it is certainly possible.

My peonies were beautiful but we have had two days of heavy rain. I will see what they look like tomorrow and take a picture.

Not very attractive, sort of like lettuce gone to seed. They are annuals, but they self-seed and come back every year. They like a lot of fertilizer. They are also called Shirley poppies.
