A better Blue Bird pic

 

I love when I get to see a pileated, which isn't often. Hey, the birds are colorful enough to be "mobile" blooms

 

We don't have bluebirds here. Just Blue Jays.

 

We have a resident pair of Pileateds, we see them all around us pretty much all day long. They are very active this time of year, their call is unmistakable. Quite fun to watch.

A few flowers that opened up during the deluge of rain we had last week. They stayed nice so I could take pictures today

The daffodils in the roadside garden were from a mixed bag (butterfly mix), so I don't have their names

Got to 81* today but we are heading back into cooler temps and rainy weather for the upcoming week

 

Those are quite different looking daffodils. I ended up with two pink and white daffodils in my wild garden. don't know how. Something I forgot I had planted I guess.

Indigo bunting today. First time seeing one. It has been eating grass seed heads in the lawn and on the black oil sunflower feeder. Taken with my daughters digital camera. Whole different level of pictures.

 

Don't get to see indigo buntings very often. In 2007 & 2011 at my last place, we had a pair in the area, but other than that, very rare to see for me.

 

Sweet! I've only seen one before, at work of all places, in an industrial park. Great pics fishingpol !

 

I picked a bag of black-eyed Susan seed heads from work. They over wintered on the stems. Can these get cultivated right in some prepared soil? If they grow, I wouldn't expect much or flowers this year, but seems worth trying.

 

I stopped by the local small nursery to replace two rose bushes out front. They had 4 lupines, well established in gallon pots. Those are now in the side yard with the other seeds I planted the other day. I am very happy they had them.

 

Those usually do well straight off the seedhead - especially since they spent the winter outside.

 

What color are they? Are they a cultivar or generic - probably easiest to answer questions if you just snap a picture of the label and post it. I've gotten in the habit of photographing labels and storing them on my computer so I can find them later (I found that I have to put "label" in the name of the picture so I can them find it when I'm searching )

 

I'll grab a pic later, but generic. Not dark colored like the ones up in NH.

 

Mrs. Mt. Man has plenty of Black Eyed Susan's she's always transplanting as they end up in places she doesn't want them. She said you are welcome to take some to transplant if you are interested. See what great pizza buys you.
