Very pretty - I love the natural lilies! I see you also have some Rose Campion in amongst them - which is weird because I thought they liked dry areas but I'm betting that's not dry at all.

Great pics everyone. It's nice to see everything growing.

Our flower garden went crazy. I planted the wildflower and hummingbird seed mix. There is some crabgrass in there and daylillies are taking over again. The new flowers are just starting to open now. The butterfly bush opened too. The cultivator is mostly covered with morning glories as well as the pole trellis. It's one big mess of greenery. We are definitely not formal gardens here.

This lily is in the side yard and was the only flower in a beam of light that made it pop!

It is quite dry there, sand below the topsoil and full sun.

Ah, that explains it then. Although I have known (and had) plenty of plants to defy conventional wisdom on what conditions they like, Rose Campion has not been one of them.

Japansee beetles devastated this rose bush in a few days.

Purple loosetrife I believe. Nice but invasive. It's gotta go.

Oriental beetles are just starting to show up here . We usually have a higher number of oriental to japanese beetle.
I've used the pheromone bag-a-bug traps in the past but used a lot of them around the perimeter of the yard.
They'll even find last year's traps put away in the shed. Horny little buggers.

I've always known this as Gay Flower, but apparently that isn't PC anymore. Too bad, because it makes me happy (gay) when I see the blooms

I've been tempted to get some of those new fancy echinaceas. Do me a favor and save a seedhead from the gold one for me!

    This hydrangea is showing nicely.

    20190721_194533.jpg

I have carpets of this plant along the wetlands in the shaded woods. It finally bloomed and I think it is an orange jewel weed also called a touch-me-not. It is supposed to bloom until frost. They are averaging about 3 feet tall now.
