Recently I've been having some problems when trying to start my 346.I thought I would make a post of what I found that might help others out.It would flood when trying to start and also had some high rpms at wot that would sky rocket.I leave a tach on the saw while out cutting so I know what it is up to most of the time.I am not chainsaw mechanic but would prefer to have my hands on my tool versus someone elses.I found out thru doing some research that the tank vent has been a problem so I took it apart pulled the vent drilled a hole above the existing one ran a bit in the end of the nibble of vent put it back together with some hondabond around the vent so it wouldn't leak in the future.I still had a problem of flooding when starting so I took the carb out disassembled it found that the meter lever was to low and diaphram looked like it might be a little hard in one area.I have a zama on another saw (350) used the diaphram off that looked good until I order a carb kit.cleaned carb with carb cleaner but it back together.Now that thing is starting no problem dont even have to choke it after it sits all night and saved me some hassle of taking it somewhere to get fixed.
