Lost the oil flipper on the 250 when I first started. Must’ve thought they were easier to use than they really are LOL Not terrible once you get used to them. On the little 250 they are a pain to get at. Not much real estate on the little saws. as for the kill switches that return to on like my 550’s? Best switch ever made. It’s what God intended. One of the problems I have is jumping back and forth between a real, switch and a Stihl. Sometimes forget I have to reset my Stihl to start. Stihl’s don’t seem to like being pulled over with the switch off. They like to take the rest of the day off if you make that mistake.
Um, my 362 has the blasted momentary off return to on switch. I kinda got used to machinery that has an on position to use it. You know, like a car. And a bazillion other things. Course, cars are increasingly using keyless ignitions with pushbuttons that make it so much easier for drunks and not too bright people get them going. Out on the road where they probably shouldn't be. I haven't struggled to use the 362 though. Yet.
I was sharpening the chain on my 460 last night when i smelled gas. The flippy cap was leaking. When i store my saws i usually lay them down in the same orientation as if being fueled. I tried several times to reset it and finally did...or so i thought. Kept leaking so i laid he saw on its side and today stopped to buy a new one. The gas one on my 460 can be touchy. When they work they are great and convenient, but i never had an issue with the old ones. Carried the scrench in my back pocket. The new one worked fine! Got a second and will keep in the toolbox. Are these caps universally sized? Will this fit my 290 or 261?
