We hit the Lake Saturday and got a few decent fish. Going out again today. My son will be heading back to school this Wednesday. So I took a day to spend with him before heads back........ A tradition we've had since he was a we tyke.

Had a neat thing happen. Must of been a bug hatch as several hundred birds(swallows?) surrounded us. Pictures don't show how close they were and how they were flying over our heads. We were afraid to cast fearing we'd hit one or have it dive at our bait. Never seen so many at one time before. Definitely an experience!!

My son caught this beast on Saturday.

And Pop's was on a roll Monday. 3 of the 7 bass I caught. My son didn't fair as well and had to revert to dad's method before landing his own. So I got to do the chuckie dance at the boat ramp. :) :p

Nice fish! I think you'll need a longer measuring stick if your son keeps catching monsters!

We had an interesting day on the water yesterday. Started out cool, breezy and overcast. Fish weren't biting and we had plenty of company(other anglers-skiers and jet skiers). Too busy for us and we almost left. Started to sprinkle and we saw most head to shore. By 1 PM it was flat out raining and we were the only boat left on the water. The wind stopped the lake went flat and back to just a sprinkle. We were wet and chilly but figured it was the only chance we'd have with the lake to our self. Started hitting the good spots and the fish started to co-operate. Here's just a few of the decent fish that made it to the boat. There were a few that I wish I had pic's of, But they decided not to participate and left me cursing! Yep, Got a few more fish tales for the collection!! ;)

Looking good. I've always found the fish turn on after a rain. Rain gear= keep fishing.
