Well that’s essentially what happened. We’re having my Memorial Day BBQ down there and the one that fell in the lake might have been a hazard for any kids who wanted to launch boats or go swimming. Generally I’d agree with you, which is why none of it came home with me. But these were all ugly trees that had to go, and I’d much rather turn it into campfire wood than pay someone to haul them away. I think the previous owners had been advised to butcher them by the realtor before they sold the place. Let me see if I can find a good pic for you...
Oh Dave. I can just picture that. Bet the water was warm too. Yes, there can be slippery in many things, including trees.
Shawn, I'd probably have also taken the locust home even if it means you have to take some with you when you go to the cabin. That looks like a nice place to spend weekends, holidays, vacations, work days, etc.
Well I went down there again today for Mother’s Day, and wouldn’t you know it, my mom said the same thing. This was the last one in front of the cottage, till you get to Canada anyway. Landed it right in the brush fire, so that was convenient. It actually wasn’t in too bad of shape, but my mom decided she wanted a clean slate. We’re going to hire a landscaper after the stones get placed, so now we’ll be starting over probably with some red maple. I like honey locust too but maple is a better shade tree.
