You need a support box for the triple wall to sit in,then the single wall is joined to the triple wall underneath this. The support box needs to be at least 18"x 18" for 6" stovepipe it will be level on the bottom cut and bent over to match roof pitch on the top.

    Thanks Walt!

I did some more reading and found the answer I was looking for. Luckily I do have all the necessary pieces, the instructions are just a bit vague.

Hope to be curing the paint this evening.

BTW, I am following all required clearances and code requirements. You may notice the light fixture in the ceiing that is too close to the stove pipe - on my list to relocate. It may not be the prettiest setup, but I want to make darn sure it is safe.

Installed. Took twice as long as I thought but I am very happy with my final product.

I can’t remember what it’s called again but the piece with the ceiling trim ring around it will get screwed to the rafters and support the chimney. The single wall pipe from that adapter to the stove will have no weight resting on it. You will need to frame out a box to support the adapter.

First and foremost, thanks again Dave for talking me out of a drum stove and into a Fisher.

Install went very well. Chimney is 14' straight up and out. Sellkirk has an excellent product line. Very very happy with their products. The directions are vague and I had to do some internet searches to complete the install but otherwise I highly recommend their products.

Two heat shields are being used behind the stove. One is 26g sheetmetal ran all the way up the wall spaced 1" with ceramic spacers onto plywood. The second is a 32x32 piece of 1/8 steel with 30 degree bends in each side. With stove at full temp, all surrounding areas are cool as can be.

After 2 days of burning, I realize I have much to learn as with any new stove. I feel like I'm feeding the baby an awful lot of wood so I must be feeding too much air.

My garage is 24x24 and is completely uninsulated. I have a feeling that I'm going to be wanting atleast the ceiling covered to really reap the benefits of this stove without over firing it. I know without doubt that when I someday have it all sealed up and insulated, it will be too hot!!! :D

Install a cieling fan to pull the heat back down or get you one of these, you can't beat them!!! Ace Hardware or Amazon carries them. Point it to the cieling and it'll push the heat back down. It's plastic, light, easly moved, won't rust, and you can't kill it! I have two, one in the house near the stove and one in my shop.

    Report:

Baby Bear has been a great addition to my man cave. It has not been hard to get the temp up to around 50 even on the coldest of days. Once garage is finished, im sure ill be out there in gym shorts on the coldest day of thr year. Easy to relight in the morning too.

Still working on finding the sweet spot but all in all I'm happy.

The only gripe I have is that the coals build up in the back of the stove and I can never seem to load a "full" load due to splits hitting my baffle. I can't pull them forward because they will fall out the front.

I'm used to leaving a decent amount of ash in the bottom of my Buck 74 so that's what I've been doing with the Fisher. Maybe I should be cleaning it out more?

How often do you scoop out the ash and how much to you leave? I don't like a "clean" stove because its too hard to hold a fire. When you do scoop it out, how much do you leave?

All you need is a 1/2" in the Fisher! :) I let mine burn down to ash every Saturday and let it cool till I start the process all over again... Shovel out, leave 1/2" on bottom, re-light, burn till next Saturday. "Repeat" all winter :p till April fools day, then light as needed.

Sad day yesterday, had to take down the baby bear stovepipe and roll the bear off on a dolly...... Really going to miss it.

Until nest season most likely :D I' getting a new garage floor poured so I have to clear everything out. Luckily the Fisher only takes about 10 minutes to disconnect and roll away.

First time I've seen in the chimney since install. Looks perfect.
