    If you can't get them in more you can't get them in more. Correctly depends on the situation.

    I'm getting really good results with the "petrified" stuff and 3/4 inch maple lumber cutoffs. For an 18 inch split I put 3 sets of 2 cutoffs stacked on a bed of coals and put the split on top. Soon I have lots of flames and heat for hours.

    This is where I like my pinless moisture meter. It's actually made with better components than the cheap moisture meters that most people use for firewood. But, for firewood, you rarely need anything better than the 20 dollar pin type meter.
