Had some time and very nice weather this morning before heading to the in-laws. So I went grabbed some stuff I cut last month. Yesterday the wife and I hiked to the back corner to change out the SD card on the camera and brought home four hitchhikers. Ticks are heavy. Check yourselves!
Nice on the wood, not so much on the ticks! I was out cutting again today but this time it was a south facing mountain side and not right behind my house. I finished up a few hours ago and when I jumped into the truck I felt something crawling across my neck. Grabbed at it and it was a big tick. Were lucky that they are rarely harmful here but a guy needs to be cautious around all ticks. Im going to give my husky dog her tick medication tomorrow. This is all doug fir but from three different trees. The one frozen into the ground was after I had hacked off 7 or so big rounds. Had to noodle them as they were to big for me to safely lift. One was a smaller standing dead. Nice to get out. Many areas for us are still buried in deep snow. I almost got stuck in the stuff on a north facing shady corner today.
