First time at the beech

    Yeah. Some of the beech logs I got, had that punky rot in them. Not too much. I chopped out what I could. I'll have to look for it to see what 3yrs on the rack does to the punk.

    Son of a gun! I do believe a rack of sugar maple splits, isn't far from where the beech is stacked. I learn so much here.

    Yeah unfortunately maple, beech, birch and a few others will rot fast in the woods and if they get and stay wet in stacks.

    The splits of beech that I've pulled from my stacks, are nice and clean so far. Once css'd, it was left uncovered for about a year, then covered for the last 2.
